PEM® Surface Creations Offers New Features on its Slip Resistant Flooring
New sizes and new density available starting in 2010

Jan. 4, 2010: ST. LOUIS, Mo. –PEM® Surface Creations, a leader in premium slip resistant matting, announces that it will offer new sizes and a new density beginning in 2010 for its unique poly extruded matting (PEM) that is used worldwide on golf courses, in aquatic facilities, marinas, playgrounds and equestrian centers.

PEM Matting is made from virgin raw thermal plastics, and is designed with a porous looping construction that creates a durable and textured surface that reduces slippage in high traffic areas.  In addition, the soft construction of the matting provides padding on points of harmful contact and comfort to barefoot traffic.

The slip resistant matting is now available in 2-feet, 3-feet and 6-feet wide rolls that provide customers with the benefits of an easier method of calculating square footage and the ease of installation without the need for additional cutting or extra material waste.  The various sizes of matting can also be combined and work together to cover a variety of surfaces.

PEM is also announcing its “high traffic” density that is a hybrid of its previous mid and heavy density matting.  The benefits of merging the two is the development of a high traffic density option that is more cost effective, offers more versatile applications, and more color choices.

“Over the past 13 years of providing our PEM slip resistant matting to various industries, we continually work to improve our product and enhance features that are important to our customers ,”  said Rob Amelung, vice president of PEM Surface Creations.  “Our new sizes and new density provide more variety, but at a less material cost per square foot, which is a benefit to many of our customers .”

From simple, single applications at a local golf course to major sporting events, PEM Surface Creations is a premium choice in slip resistant flooring.  The porous construction allows moisture to flow through or evaporate to eliminate standing water and reduce algae growth.  The matting is resistant to environmental and chemical degradation, extreme heat and wind uplift making it highly durable, and applicable to many industries.
